DOT - Developing Outstanding Teaching Programme

Designed by the Cambridge Teaching Schools Network and facilitated by experienced school leaders and teachers from a range of secondary and primary schools, the Developing Outstanding Teaching programme gives good and outstanding teachers a set of high level skills and strategies that will enable them to become consistently outstanding teachers who are better placed to support other colleagues through coaching and mentoring and lead changes back in school.  The course will provide opportunities to explore a range of pedagogical approaches and also provide delegates with the ability to coach colleagues in their own school to help raise performance levels.

This four day course is aimed at teachers who are already delivering consistently good and outstanding lessons, have a strong  commitment to Teaching and Learning and wish to further develop and enhance their practice and that of others.  They will have a commitment to professional development and the ability to reflect on their own practice.  Teachers who would benefit may already be involved in coaching or mentoring or have the potential to take on this type of role to help raise the quality of teaching and learning in their schools.

During the course, which will be held at a range of different schools and settings, delegates will be given structured opportunities to reflect on teaching approaches and their quality and impact.  It will also introduce and consolidate new knowledge and skills and focus on what makes teaching and learning outstanding through a series of lesson observations aimed at encouraging participants to reflect on what makes effective teaching and learning and how this can be applied to their own practice.  The course will also introduce coaching and mentoring skills which will be invaluable in helping to disseminate that good practice back in school.  A series of gap tasks will help consolidate knowledge and give colleagues opportunities to innovate by trying out new strategies and techniques in the classroom as well as strong emphasis on sharing good practice back in their departments to the benefits of others.

**Early Bird discount available - reduced fee of £275.00 per delegate for bookings made 30 days prior to the programme start date**  Usual price £350 per delegate. All resources, lunch and refreshments will be provided by the host school.
