Peterborough NQT Programme:

An 8 unit programme covering pedagogy, wellbeing and pastoral skills essential for a successful NQT year meeting the NQT standards and accessing the new early career training coverage. For Peterborough and surrounding area schools. You can download a programme flier by clicking here.

The programme:

  • is focused on supporting your NQTs to develop strong classroom practice
  • supported by bespoke on-line learning modules to consolidate learning
  • includes gap tasks forming a portfolio of evidence towards the Teacher Standards
  • includes focused learning walks to develop observation skills and learning from excellent practice in different schools (Covid-19 dependant)

All subject sessions this year will be recorded or available as online units. This will enable participants to access at a time that suits them and minimise time out of school and cover costs for schools, participants will be more able to use their delegated NQT release time to complete the course and activities.

We believe this will give a comprehensive course for our NQTs enabling them to build up an impressive portfolio and understanding of practice which they can apply in their classrooms in the most flexible way to suit them whilst still able to participate in the invaluable classroom observations and networking  during face to face meetings when Covid guidance     allows.

Headteachers and mentors will be updated periodically to link subject gap tasks to work back in school and achievement of the standards.
