Primary NQT Development Programmes 2019-20

Cambridge Teaching Schools Network are pleased to offer two NQT professional development programmes for 2019-20, one Cambridge and Cambridgeshire based, the other to support Peterborough NQTs. Full details of both are below.

Cambridge and Cambridgeshire NQT Programme

This is a seven-session programme of professional development for Newly Qualified Teachers in EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

 The aims of this course are:

  • to support and develop NQT teaching and learning practice
  • to assist NQTs in developing their own professional development needs
  • to help NQTs to develop a clear understanding of the Teachers’ Standards 

The programme consists of 7 half-day sessions which focus on different elements of the Teachers’ Standards. The sessions will be held at Trumpington Park Primary School, Histon and Impington Junior School and Hatton Park Primary School.

Peterborough NQT Programme

This is a nine-day programme covering pedagogy, wellbeing and pastoral skills essential for a successful NQT year. For Peterborough and surrounding area schools. You can download a programme flier by clicking here.

The programme:

  • is focused on supporting your NQTs to develop strong classroom practice
  • supported by bespoke on-line learning modules to consolidate learning
  • draws on expertise from a variety of national trainers, Peterborough specialist SLEs and Maths Hub leaders
  • includes gap tasks forming a portfolio of evidence towards the Teacher Standards
  • includes focused learning walks to develop observation skills and learning from excellent practice in different schools
